Royal
Gorge Rafting
Trip
This trip offers the ultimate
in advanced whitewater challenge and spectacular scenery
as it plunges between the rugged walls of a 1000 foot
deep canyon. The Royal Gorge is famous for it's steep
drops, huge waves, and continuous Class III and Class
IV whitewater. The Royal Gorge
trip is for adventuresome guests. During the spring runoff,
some sections may be rated Class V or closed to temporarily
commercial operations. The Royal Gorge is recommended

and previous rafting experience. The full day Royal Gorge
trip starts with a half day warm up on the Class II and
Class III stretches above the Royal Gorge. Protective
headgear, lifejackets, and wet suits are mandatory in
the Royal Gorge and included in the rafting fee.
Guests
with previous Class III experience may choose to go through
the Royal Gorge with our skilled guide in a self-bailing
"paddle raft". Guests with no previous experience
may choose an "oar boat" (or the special Cataraft
boat) operated and controlled by our professional boatman.
Your boatman/guides have years of experience and are familiar
with all phases of the river. They know the geology and
history of the area and will entertain you during your

Wetsuit
Use
Wetsuits and river booties are included in our
package price.
The Arkansas River is produced
by melting snow and is colder than meandering rivers in
other parts of the country. We recommend wetsuits for
everyone, which is why we include them in our prices.
We don't want guests faced with making a choice before
the trip and then being sorry they did not spend extra
money for a wetsuit. (For comparison,
other rafting companies charge extra for wetsuits: Farmer
John wetsuit $5 half day, $8 full day; paddling jacket
$3 half day, $5 full day; wetsuit booties $2 half day,
$3 full day.)
Depending
on the time of the year, the time of day or other unforeseen
circumstances, we are not always able to offer all tours
every day. All tours require a minimum number of passengers.
We will make every effort to accomodate all guests, but
may ask for some flexibility on your part by having alternate
days/times available.
Thank
you for your business and we look forward to providing
your best...
